PostgreSQL Development Bootcamp in Tel Aviv

The local Israeli PostgreSQL community organized the non-profit PostgreSQL Development Bootcamp in Tel Aviv — a hands-on intensive program for engineers looking to deepen their understanding of PostgreSQL internals and contribute to the project.

This event is part of ongoing efforts to grow the PostgreSQL contributor community in Israel, providing practical experience with the PostgreSQL codebase, build system, patch workflow, and testing infrastructure.

Participants gained hands-on experience with:

• PostgreSQL source code structure and build toolchain
• Writing and submitting patches through the community process
• Understanding the query planner and executor internals
• Working with the Write-Ahead Log (WAL) and replication
• Contributing to documentation and regression tests

The bootcamp brought together engineers from across Israel’s tech industry, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the local PostgreSQL ecosystem.
